Joanne M. Theurich became Janelia Farm’s Chief Administrative Officer in October 2010. In this role, she oversees Technology Transfer, Human Resources, Finance, Facilities, Laboratory Support Services, and Purchasing. From 2005 through September 2010, Theurich served as Janelia’s Director of Administration and Finance. In her new position, she will be able to play an even more important role in fostering the campus’ collaborative work environment, which, along with her interest in health and science, first drew her to Janelia Farm.“It is professionally rewarding to be part of a research institution as incredibly special as Janelia Farm, where science is driven solely by intellectual opportunities and the possibility of contributing to the scientific community worldwide.”

Prior to joining HHMI, Theurich was responsible for the administration of business process outsourcing contracts for DST Health Solutions, a global premier solution provider in the healthcare industry, headquartered in Birmingham, AL. Previously, she built, developed, and directed the finance and administrative functions of several start-up healthcare organizations, where she held Vice President or Division President positions. Theurich has a B.A. in Business Administration from Michigan State University.

Theurich is a member of the Science and Technology Advisory Council for George Washington University’s Virginia campus and a member of the Board of Loudoun County’s Economic Development Commission. She has been a member of the Board of the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on its Public Policy committee.
