Yalin Wang manages the electron microscopy shared resource, which hosts state-of-the-art equipment and provides services including sample preparation, examination and data analysis to researchers at Janelia Farm. Prior to coming to Janelia Farm, he was a manager of the Advanced Imaging Facility at the College of Staten Island, City University of New York. He was drawn to Janelia Farm by its cutting-edge science and the focused multidisciplinary approach to address principles of information processing by neuronal circuits. Understanding how the brain works is always his cherished goal. By providing expertise in electron microscopic imaging, he desires to be part of the research effort at Janelia Farm. He has a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Kansas. He did his postdoc at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, where he studied olfactory coding and learning and memory in Drosophila using imaging approaches.
