Junior Scientist Workshop on Genetic and Neurobiological Basis for the Evolution of Behavior
Registration for this workshop is closed.
This "by the students, for the students" meeting is intended for graduate students and postdocs doing research on the evolution of behavior and nervous systems. Attendees will present their work and participate in lively discussions on key problems and obstacles in the field, as well as what tools and approaches might be useful for future progress. We will also host plenary talks from senior investigators.
This workshop will be interactive, intense, and interdisciplinary - a unique and enjoyable learning opportunity for everyone involved. Ideally, participants will be at a more advanced stage in their project, such that they can comfortably present both results and the techniques used to get there. They should be able to follow a fairly intense schedule and contribute actively to discussions.
In order to maintain a small group atmosphere with extensive interactions and discussion, space in this workshop is limited. Applicants must commit to attending if they are selected and are expected to stay for the duration. Janelia will cover the cost of accommodation, meals and travel expenses.
