Current Research:
Neural Mechanisms and Evolution of Social Communication
node:field_people_current_research | entity_field
Animals communicate to coordinate actions, to build relationships, and to facilitate mate selection. I aim to understand the neural mechanisms of social communication, and how these mechanisms have evolved to shape species-specific behavioral patterns. By integrating cutting-edge neurophysiology, genetics, and connectomics in tractable model systems, I seek to discover general principles of circuit function and evolution — from molecules and cells to circuits and behavior.
