Biography
Nirmala Iyer has a Masters Degree in Microbiology from the University of Bombay, India. Her work experience includes Molecular Biology & Infectious Disease Research, High throughput Sample and Assay Technologies, Scientific Training & Technical support, and Confocal imaging. She joined Janelia in 2009, as member of the FlyLight Project team and later worked as a Process Lead, managing the FlyLight Multi-Color Flip-out process. Since October of 2014, Nirmala has been a Research Specialist in the Fetter Lab, evaluating novel sample preparation methods for the next generation EM fly connectome.
