Unsolved Problems in Systems Neuroscience
This workshop is designed to provide a highly interactive context for discussion and analysis of the most important unsolved problems in systems neuroscience. The overall goal is to define what problems regarding neural information processing have already been solved by systems neuroscience approaches, what key unsolved problems remain, and what methodological and conceptual advances are required to address those unsolved problems. The format of the workshop will not be the traditional line-up of talks, each followed by questions for the speaker. Rather, it will be a uniquely interactive schedule with some talks, but mainly focused on discussion, brainstorming, debate, etc. The exact format and schedule will be established collaboratively by the participants prior to arrival at Janelia.
We particularly encourage applications from graduate students and post-docs, but will also entertain applications from principal investigators. Travel scholarships are available to those who need support in order to attend.
For consideration, applicants must submit a brief abstract of their current research AND a statement on what they believe to be the key unanswered question(s) in systems neuroscience. NOTE: Both must fit within the parameters of the "abstract" field within the application system.
Registration is now closed.
